The Maruti Suzuki Swift has been a household name in India for nearly two decades. With over 2.9 million units sold, it's one of the most successful hatchbacks in the country. The 2024 model brings subtle updates while maintaining the sporty character that made it popular.
Design and Exterior
The new Swift features a refreshed front grille with a bolder chrome accent and redesigned LED projector headlamps. The side profile remains familiar with the characteristic floating roof design. New 15-inch alloy wheels add a premium touch.
Interior and Features
Inside, the Swift offers a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The cabin features improved materials and a new instrument cluster with a multi-info display. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and reverse parking sensors as standard.
Performance and Mileage
The 1.2L K-series petrol engine produces 89.7 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. It's available with both 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The claimed fuel efficiency is an impressive 22.38 km/l for the manual variant.
Verdict
The Swift continues to be a practical choice for city driving with its compact dimensions, excellent fuel economy, and affordable maintenance. While the competition has caught up in features, the Swift's brand value and reliability make it a safe bet.
